Meet Our Dentists

Dr. Julie

Dr. Julie Raaf grew up in Fargo, North Dakota.  She attended the University of Minnesota and North Dakota State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology.  Dr. Raaf then received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry.  In  2002, she and her husband, Jeff, moved to Bozeman and established Cottonwood Creek Dental.  During her first years in Bozeman, she completed courses at the prestigious Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Currently she is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.  She and her husband Jeff have been practicing dentistry for the past ten years in the Gallatin Valley, and they recently added two young daughters to their family.  She and Jeff live near Belgrade with their two young daughters.  In her spare time she enjoys taking care of her “menagerie of animals,” swimming with the Bozeman Masters swim team, gardening, hiking and reading.

Dr. Jeff

Dr. Jeff Stutts completed his undergraduate degree in 1996 at the University of Colorado at Boulder with a bachelor degree in Environmental Biology.  He then moved to Denver where he completed his Dental Doctorate work at the University of Colorado Health Science Center.  After graduation, Dr. Stutts worked for two years in a private practice in Denver.  He eventually fled the crowds and traffic of the city to enjoy life in Bozeman.  Dr. Stutts and Dr. Julie Raaf founded Cottonwood Creek Dental in 2002 and have been treating the Gallatin valley for the past decade.   From 2003 to 2006, Dr. Stutts attended the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida.  At the Dawson Academy, he received specialized training in Dental Occlusion, TMJ, Esthetics, and complex restorative cases.  His personal interests include traditional bow hunting, fly fishing (at home and abroad), and chasing upland birds behind the lead of his beloved pointing dogs.

Dr. Adam

Dr. Adam Stutts was born and raised in the Midwest near St. Louis Missouri.  In college he was offered a chance to play tennis at Montana State University, and, thus, he began his journey to the west.  After completing his undergraduate studies in biomedical science at MSU (and earning a Big Sky Championship his senior year), he went on to complete a master’s program in Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado.  Adam was then accepted to study dentistry at the University of Colorado in Denver.  During his senior year, he spent two weeks in Uganda treating the dental needs of Ugandan orphans.  Following four years of dental training, he was then accepted into the general practice residency program at the University of Colorado.  He received specialized training in the areas of implant, sedation, and hospital dentistry, and it was during this residency that he developed a love for the surgical aspects of dentistry.  In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time with his family and in the outdoors.  Fly-fishing, hunting, camping and backpacking are some of his favorite activities, and he especially enjoys sharing them with his wife, Jessica, their twin girls Ella and Lily, and their dogs Layla and Poppy.  Adam is now a cherished part of the Cottonwood Creek Dental team, treating patients alongside his brother Jeff and his sister-in-law Julie.

Meet Our Hygienists

Jill was born on a military base in Oklahoma.  This was just one of many places (overseas and in the United States) that she lived throughout her father’s Army career.  As a result of her extensive travels, her educational background became diversified with each new location.  Her high school years were divided between Virginia and California, as the Presidio of San Francisco, CA was her father’s last military assignment.  It was in high school, at an after-school job in a private dental practice in downtown San Francisco, that Jill first discovered her interest in Dental Hygiene.   As a result of this new-found interest, Jill attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo as a Biological Science major in order to complete pre-requisites for a Dental Hygiene Program.  She then completed the Dental Hygiene Program at Cypress College in Cypress, CA.  Upon completion of the program, Jill practiced Dental Hygiene full time in both Southern and on the Central Coast of California for many years before relocating to Montana (where both she and her husband, Dale, have family roots).  She has been employed with Cottonwood Creek Dental since 2004.  In her free time, Jill enjoys Jazzercise classes, cooking, hiking, bike riding, and RV camping by lakes and streams with her husband.

Dawn was born and raised in East Texas just West of Lufkin.  She graduated from Hudson High School and soon started a career working in the Corporate offices of Brookshire Bros.
